Listen: “Requiem For A Linthead” by Pine Tar Rage

This release marks the first new material from the group since last year's track "Perfect Day", a softer-song structure when compared to the rest of PTR's discography, it should come as no sudden surprise to long time fans of The Drovers Old Time Medicine Show, also fronted by Campbell.

2020: The Year That Slapped

I loathe the word slapped and most variants of it. Yet, for such a year as 2020, perhaps that word justly defines what a slap in the face it was. Perhaps it was even necessary. Having said that, everyone here is proud of you for sticking around, as there's still plenty to be thankful for and so, so much to look forward to.

Naturally, we are proud to announce the debut of Dave's latest endeavor, a bedroom pop-stained musical mattress titled The Bear Traps and it's two singles: "Desert Of Love" b/w "I Don't Want To Die Tonight" out now on Gypsy Farm Records.

Interview: Cicada Rhythm

Cicada Rhythm is the dynamic duo of Andrea DeMarcus and Dave Kirslis. Hailing from Northeast Georgia, they are more often than not, joined by the likes of Colin Agnew, Matt Stoessel, and Dan Kirslis. Listen: “Old Woman” by Sea of Dogs

In a notable departure from the album's full band arrangement, this alternate take on the song finds singer Emily Armond's voice in a most pure, yet vulnerable state, bouncing through hollows, embraced only by a warn, piano accompaniment, courtesy of Jacob Morris. We are pleased now to have received word, down from the mountain, granting permission to release a song from those sessions, Old Woman.

Indeed, when This Heat debuted on radio last year, local country music disk jockey 'Porkchop' was quick to point out the atmosphere stating: "Creepy steel guitar & haunting vocals! I didn't think it was possible to get chills because of a song about the heat." - Michael "Porkchop" Branch / WLHR 92.1

New Release: Rock and Raw: Vol. 2

Earlier today, the cassette sector of Gypsy Farm released a statement claiming their machines are "fired up" and running momentarily to produce a "super short-run" follow up to 2018's now out-of print compilation album, Rock and Raw. The first volume was an even shorter-run tape release, only circulated privately among the bands involved and friends.  Rock and …

Ancient Whales: Live at Adult Swim and more releases from Gypsy Farm Records

Also sneaking out from the ether during this strange time is the first material in two years to be released from Clemson, SC's cow-punk stewards, Pine Tar Rage. The song titled "Perfect Day" recalls the adventures of an individual from pre-sunrise and climaxes into all the fixings of the perfect day. Fans of PTR will immediately notice that the song is a somewhat departure in sound comparatively to their past recordings, but nothing unfamiliar to long time patrons of the band's live set.
