Ancient Ethel was a garage rock & musical duo, based within the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina (USA).
Driven by the barbaric-beat of Missy Lawrence (Jackson Harlem) and guitarist Garett Hatch (Mother The Car), each would share turns belting dialog over their instruments, reminiscent of Beefheart or the Coathangers, respectfully.
In 2019, the group released a self-titled debut EP recorded at Gypsy Farm in Georgia (USA) and El Rancho Morbido, in Black Mountain NC before hitting the road on a series of tour dates throughout the Southern United States.
Ancient Ethel continued to perform genuinely exciting shows steeped in a vintage rock and roll spirit before disbanding in 2020.
