RODNEY KINGS 7″ COMING SOON on GF

Athens’ own trio of chaos curators are at it again, THE RODNEY KINGS are making their voyage back to GF studio to cut two sides of pure poppin punk for our next issue release #GF004 – The Rodney Kings / IRENE 7-INCH.  Sometime earlier this month, GF Armed guards hand-delivered the official MASTERS to the pressing plant and we are currently awaiting approval of the test prints. ELF POWER at GF

ELF POWER has set up camp in the GF Studio and commenced to colorfully churning OWT all kinds of goodness.  Thank YEW Laura for the tea basket.  I remember seeing the band back in 2008 at the Georgia Theatre (Pre-Burn) and fell in love-and onto the floor soon after.   Here they are doing “Jane” from 1999’s “A Dream In Sound” (OTR) and was produced by  Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips).  STAY TOONED

OLD SMOKEY in the STUDIO

OLD SMOKEY found themselves in our studio recently. Rolling in from Athens GA, This band OOZES colorful melodies and drives their Psych-Folk sound with dark rhythms that is bound to tickle yer toes.  They arrived by way of one car overheating and pushing through 105+ degree weather;  Settling into the GF studio – Jim, John, Jacob, Jason and Rob – have created something that we feel falls along the lines of a lost cut, snapped from the Original Wicker Man Soundtrack with the attitude of Lou Reed and the VU. If we may BE SO BOLD.

CARS CAN BE BLUE AT GYPSY FARM

This lovable duo from New Hampshire (Now with a bass player) came to Athens, GA years ago. Their bus broke down and they’ve been with us ever since…and bless their little hearts for it. Yesterday, they ventured into GYPSY FARM STUDIO and began what will be the making of their third album, “Trace the Tension” – STAY TOON’D
