LISTEN: Haunted Head returns with a Poison Kiss

We’re overjoyed to see the most recent release of GF band Haunted Head, a concept of South Carolina songwriter, Brant Duncan.

Today, the group releases their first single since 2021, titled Poison Kiss.

Stream & share the song below.

Duncan performs a unique style of music with Haunted Head, dating all the way back to 1998, when he would borrow a roommate’s 4-track tape recorder.

Listen: “Come Home” The Haunted Head

Coming into sight for the month of March, we see the return of Brant Duncan’s Carolina musical troop, known as The Haunted Head. Their latest production, a song titled “Come Home” surely encompasses everything you’ve come to know and appreciate about the band’s somber side.

Stream and share “Come Home” by the Haunted Head and support your favorite local artists, near and far this Friday (March 5th) by participating in this year’s second Bandcamp Friday.

Also seeing light today for the first time in over twenty years, is a collection of four-track recordings by Duncan’s former associates, Unabnormal, a 90s-era Clemson/Athens band fronted by Georgolina’s own concierge of portastudio saturation, Thom Strickland, who claims that the cassette tape was just recently re-discovered, under his bed.

The collection is called Diving Bell/Wishing Well, and along with a growing assortment of other titles, is out now, courtesy of Strickland’s “Brown Paper” record label, that isn’t.

Stream: Country Strange – Vol 1

Debuting high on the parkertown yodel-charts this morning comes “Country Strange Vol. 1” featuring a modest collection of original country songs pinned by long-running Gypsy Farm associate Uncle Goo a.k.a Garrett Chase Carpenter.  We first got a taste of this sweet medicine back in the ladder part of 2018 with the release of two singles “I’m Tired” b/w “Mallory”.

“It’s all here folks – country and western tunes of loathe, love and gout.” says associate producer and graphic designer WJAY.  As per usual, the standard GF band of cronies provide solid backing through-out the entire playlist given wing with the addition of pedal steel picker Matt “Pistol” Stoessel and lead guitarist Jake Stargel.

Country Strange Vol. 1 is available January 2nd on all streaming platforms including bandcamp and digipak CD.

Tune in to 92.1 FM WLHR Lake Hartwell Radio on January 4th to hear local DJ Porkchop sit down for an interview with Uncle Goo at 9:30am!
